Pores red-brown but more orange at the edge where younger. Tubes stained darker when cut.

Stem 8cm X 4cm,simialr colour but with darker patches and cracking in places. Tapering suddenly at base

Flesh yellow going 'vinaceous' when cut after a minute.

Found 3 August 2000 in grass on slipping coastal land on Isle of Wight - but rather old and smelly...

Clearly a Boletus..It seems so obvious, but I cannot get it at all in my books. Help!!
